Megafer

Megafer is used for treating iron deficiency anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease. It is elemental iron as an injection. It replenishes body iron stores in patients with iron deficiency.

Clinical Indications

Iron deficiency anemia requiring a rapid therapeutic effect e.g. later stages of pregnancy, post partum period, chronic renal diseases, before and after surgery

Intolerance, non-responsiveness or non-compliance to oral iron therapy

Malabsoption of iron due to intestinal disease

Recommended Dosage (Adults)

1-2 mpoules (i.e) 100-200mg) Megafer one to three times a week, depending upon the hemoglobin level
